Author John Wooden John Wooden was an American basketball player, coach and author.

He was considered the greatest coach in the history of college basketball, leading the UCLA Bruins to 10 NCAA National Championships in a 12-year period, including four perfect seasons.

Wooden was known for his emphasis on the fundamentals of basketball and his “Pyramid of Success”, a set of values he used to guide his life and his coaching.
